The Fannie Etta, a/k/a the “Blue Room,” is located on the second floor and features a private balcony overlooking Mt. Sopris, as well as a private bath with a shower and single vanity sink.  This is the room that Susan stayed in when she feel in love with the house and the Valley in 1993. 

The Minnie Maud, a/k/a the “Yellow Room” is also located on the second floor, again with a private balcony off the bedroom.  It has a private bath with a tub/shower and double vanity sink.  The large armoire in this room was too big to fit through the door, given the angles of the hall.  Susan had looked forever for a good armoire for this room and once she found the right one, she was not about to give up on it - so it was hoisted over the balcony and through the sliding glass doors from the bed of a high pickup truck by four strong men!  This room also contains John’s grandmother’s antique Singer treadle sewing machine.

The Nina Melvina, a/k/a the “Green Room” is perfect for a party of three, since it includes a single bed as well as the queen.  It also features a reading nook overlooking Mt. Sopris, with a chair that once was John’s grandfather’s favorite chair.

This may well be Susan’s favorite room in the house.  It is requested by all of our female relatives when they come to visit.  Everyone loves the rocking chair in the reading nook, the back of which is draped with Susan’s pink satin receiving blanket (from many years ago).
